Oliver Clarke is quietly developing into a young golfer to watch, with a number of recent impressive finishes adding to an already glowing resume.
Clarke won Lancashire titles at multiple age groups as a youngster and played with an impressive plus-two handicap aged just 16. He also represented the England national team, taking part in a number of matches against both European and home-nation opposition.
The 23-year-old has since been manoeuvring his way up the professional rankings with some notable finishes in a burgeoning professional career. He has featured regularly on the EuroPro Tour where, in 2019, he tied for 15th place at the Newmachar Golf Club Challenge.
Later that year, the English star also shot 208 to tie in third place at the Tour Championships in November, just two strokes behind winner Mikael Lundberg of Sweden who won the tournament with a remarkable 206. Clarke’s performance saw him leap almost 500 places through the OWGR rankings.
After an inactive 2020, Clarke returned to the EuroPro Tour and displayed good form. He tied for 16th place at the GLAL.UK Worcestershire Masters Hosted by The Vale, where just five strokes separated second to 16th position.
As the rising star garners further momentum with experience, it would be unsurprising to see Clarke’s strong finishes continue as he begins to develop consistency within his game.
