White Rose Sport signing at the Harbour Hotel in Brighton.
14th December 2023

White Rose Sports Management are delighted to announce the signing of Alex Maguire.

The recently crowned Irish amateur golfer of the year joins White Rose and will immediately turn professional after graduating from the university of Florida Atlantic with a major in International Business.

The 22-year-old enjoyed a superb 2023, successfully defending the East of Ireland Amateur Championship, the first person to do so since 1993. He then went on to win the St Andrews Links Trophy the following week, shooting a final round 64 at the Old Course.

This saw him top the R&A Amateur Series, earning a place in The 151st Open at Royal Liverpool and ultimately a place on the Great Britain and Ireland Walker Cup team last September, the pinnacle of amateur golf.

The Laytown & Bettystown star will now spend the winter months between Portugal and Florida to ensure his game is competitive for the start of the Challenge Tour where he will begin his season playing on sponsor exemptions.

“I am very excited to be honest, it will be a new world but I am still playing golf so it won’t be too different. White Rose have a proven track record of guiding players in my position through this vital transition and to embark on this journey with them is something I feel very confident about”, Alex said.

White Rose Owner James Milner Commented ‘“We are delighted to welcome Alex to White Rose. His unwavering dedication, exceptional talent and outstanding accomplishments seamlessly resonate with our commitment to excellence. He has demonstrated that he has all the attributes to reach the very top of the professional game and we are proud that he has chosen us to guide him through the next steps of his career and we will ensure no stone is left unturned when it comes to his development”.
